Dave: Bass, Vocals

Lyrics:

Ikechuku*, my brother, I’m so glad trouble don’t last

I got a bright future ‘cause I’m right on track, and

Its been hard, but I’m hardly trying

So many opportunities that I’ve been denying myself

A fear of failure or just a fear of dying it’s a complicated matter that needs some revising, so

When in doubt just remember one thing

Rejoice with the words I’m about to sing

I’m so glad trouble don’t last

Trouble don’t last always, yeah

One words, its spin, the times we living in

Lime light on fist fights and human relation

The human race debasing the faces of other peoples and places

Congratulations, you won the grand prize

‘Cause in His eyes, there ain’t no one He despises

So no matter the trouble, it won’t be your demise

I can’t wax poetic like a Shakespearean bard

But I tell you, stay in the positive when times get hard

The governments lying, our children are dying

Crying when they hear the sirens firing near their dire living environments

It’s amazing, how, with our cerebellums swelling we still thinking like felons whose melons

Can’t seem to get around the fact films like Crash

Still drive apart whites and blacks

Fueling race driven attacks to collapse social structures

With brothers under covers with others mothers

These endeavors aren’t clever; they just sever our ties with one another

I’m so glad trouble don’t last

Trouble don’t last always, yeah

[*Ikechuku is the person who taught Schwig the original I’m So Glad hymn]

South Pacific Blues

Schwig: Vocals, Drums

Chris: Acoustic guitars, Electric guitars, bass, piano, organ, BGV’s

Additional instrumentalists:

Tim Peacock: Trumpet

Lyrics:

Call me schwig for short,

‘Cause my last name's too long,

No shoes on my feet and got my sun screen on,

Walking down the street rocks stick to my feet,

Step into the shade if you can't stand the heat,

I like the thick tan ladies with the skimpy bikini,

Drinking root beer floats and eating’ cocktail weenies,

I'm as cool as clam chilling in the coral reef

If you ain’t got no woman than you ain’t got no beef

A mermaid swam to the surface

She looked all out of breath

Her dorsal fin was bruised

She had the south pacific blues

She was a wreck

Sit back relax

Your gills

Look to the sky

Won’t you dry your weeping eye

Before I get the south pacific blues.

Well it's just like this,

Where do I begin?

It’s a funky fresh tingle that I'm feeling within my mouth,

I let it out, all for you,

No reason to pout, you’re way too rude,

The sun is warm and the pavements hot

The crowd is too loud so someone called the cops

Code red, code yellow, calling all codes,

Reduce the stress so you lighten your load

One love, one heart, one soul, and one mind

One mic, that's right, we all are on time,

Are you down with Cornerstone?

I know you’re down with Cornerstone

A mermaid swam to the surface

She looked all out of breath

Her dorsal fin was bruised

She had the south pacific blues

She was a wreck

Sit back relax

Your gills

Look to the sky

Won’t you dry your weeping eye

Before I get the south pacific blues.

Hoochie Mama

Schwig: Vocals, car door, car locks, acoustic guitar, fly zipper, djembe

Chris: Acoustic guitars, bass, banjo, washing machine, balloons, BGV’s

Dave: Drums, BGV’s

Lyrics:

So I went down town just the other day

And I saw this little girl because she came my way

I said hey lil mama wont you come with me

Cause I'm the S-C-H-W-I-G

Well she gave me a smile and I gave her grin

We went back to my car and we both hopped in

She lit up my face like the rising Sun

I got 99 problems Hoochie Mama you're one

You’re a Hoochie Mama, don’t cha know

You cause a lot of drama, don’t cha know

You’re a Hoochie Mama, don’t cha know

You cause a lot of drama, don’t cha know

I got my sunscreen on because she's super hot

I got my car in park ‘cause it’s gonna rock

I got my mind in the gutter, but hey, I don’t mind

Hello Hoochie Mama hit me one last time

You’re a Hoochie Mama, don’t cha know

You cause a lot of drama, don’t cha know

You’re a Hoochie Mama, don’t cha know

You cause a lot of drama, don’t cha know

Postcards

Dave: Vocals, Acoustic guitar

Lyrics:

What would you do if I wrote down in words,

All the things I have shown you, all the things I have heard

All the places we’ve seen, all the places we went

All the thoughts I have told you, all the postcards you sent

You would read it aloud

Then you’d smile for a while

Then you’d look at me funny

I’d just say it’s my style

Because the days that gone by, all the days that we missed

All the thoughts can come back, with just one little kiss

And it’ll take us right back

To times of dancing and that grungy white hat

I catch you thinking that your body is too fat

But you know I don’t think the same things that you do

You know I might even call you skinny, too

We’d waste our days and the nighttimes I’ll be with you

Oh Lord, please, just give us something more to do

And then I’d write you a poem

It’ll soon be a song

With the words made of gold, I might sing it all wrong

But then I’d look in your eyes, and I’d know it is true

That I am the luckiest guy when I am with you

This song’s about how perfect you really are

You can’t get all that beauty from a jar

The words of this song are written in the stars

Yeah, you’re so perfect, so perfect, as you are.

Faith

Schwig: Vocals

Chris: Synth beats, bass, organ, piano, electric guitars, BGV’s

Dave: acoustic guitar

Lyrics:

Cool myself down cause I’m so up tight

My mind's a merry go round and nothing seems quite right

Complications arise from every corner I turn

Being handed with the burdens that I didn't deserve

You ask yourself why it's so damn tough

News flash to yourself that this life is rough

Whatever comes your way don't keep ducking

Keep your eyes on the prize and keep on trucking

Put your faith in the Lord

And he'll put faith in you

Now understand me man, I’m gonna give it to you straight

Now hush up your mouth, won't recapitulate

Your fate is determined by the actions you choose

It’s hard to debate because I hate to have to lose

Everything for nothing

Busting rhymes by the billion

Concentrate imitate desecrate all the buildings

Never can complain with lord

Just myself

Do what I can and I put it on the shelf

Put your faith in the Lord

And he'll put faith in you

Put your faith in the Lord

Because I know it’s true

When Mankind Evolves

Schwig: Vocals, Drums, acoustic guitar

Chris: Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, vocals

Dave: Bass

Additional instrumentalists:

Sam Kelsey: Vocals

Lyrics:

When mankind evolves, he’ll be born without his sight

So that man can’t tell the difference between who is black and white

We’ll work our own jobs and we’ll drive our own cars

And we’ll do as we please because our lives are in charge

And we’ll

Live together

You and me

Down by the ocean

Or wherever we please

And it might take some time, but why don’t you take a look?

The only mention of war will be found straight in our history books

And we’ll sing our own songs, and we’ll praise our own Gods

And we’ll do as we please because we’ll all get along

And we’ll

Live together

You and me

Down by the ocean

Or wherever we please

Yo, listen up, its your man Schwig Nasty

With Beat Supply, can you tell I ain’t happy?

With mankind and its lack of compassion

The world’s a freak show and we’re the main attraction

Reaction, man has always had a cause

You’re livin life too fast, you better put it on pause

That’s a nasty ass cut, I’m a get you some gauze

I hate politics and ridiculous laws

Like 21 to drink, but 18 to kill

I’ve entered the Matrix, and I took the green pill

The truth is hard but should never be ignored

It starts with a dream, and nothing less, nothing more

War, ah, such a childish game

Can’t we just shake hands and call it a day?

No way, uh-uh, No one wants to resolve

And its exactly why mankind don’t evolve

The Song you’re About to Hear

Schwig: Drums

Chris: Electric guitar, bass, dulcimer, organ
Dave: Vocals, acoustic guitar

Lyrics:

I woke up this morning

Feeling down

I woke up this morning

On the ground

And then you came to me

And then you came to me

Come over to get you

You were outside

You didn’t see me

I wanted to hide

Then she came for me

And then she came for me

I want you to stay a while

I’ll never forget your smile

Won’t you just stay a while?

I guess it’s just not your style

It’s not like I left you

I had no choice

It’s not like you wanted me anymore

You never came for me

You never came for me

And then I saw you

I caught your eye

It’s like you remembered

But tried to hide

You’ll never come for me

You’ll never come for me

I want you to stay a while

I’ll never forget your smile

Won’t you just stay a while?

I guess it’s just not your style

This is the song you’re about to hear

I’m sorry I couldn’t be more clear

First time I saw you, you brought tears to my eyes

Last time I saw you, you did the same thing, but they were tears of a different kind

Supersize This!

Schwig: Vocals

Chris: Electric guitar, bass, synth beats, keyboards

Lyrics:

Driving a clunker with them big old fins

This is how our story begins

Running over trashcans and all of your kin

I’m talking ‘bout senior citizens!

Cadillac ’68, dice in the mirror

76 years old, still sucking down “lite” beer

Out on the road, watch out behind

There’s another one driving on the yellow lines!

Supersize This!

(Supersize That!

Supersize This!

Now whatchu think ‘bout ‘at?)

They come without warning, no signals, no flags.

Pulling up next to you sporting handicapped tags.

The kids are in danger, the dogs and cats too.

This street, that street, and all your avenues

Knocking down cones and barricades too,

Just watch your back, because they won’t watch you

From crosswalks, to intersections, to parking lot malls,

Safety's on hold til' they mandate new laws.

With denture distraction, fall rock walls,

Put a stop to this, we must rest it all.

Supersize This!

(Supersize That!

Supersize This!

Now whatchu think ‘bout ‘at?)

You’d think with not much left in their life

They’d drive at high speeds without any strife

To get to places in their limited time

And to yell at us kids for bustin’ out rhymes

Now I don’t mean to complain, and don’t need to be rude

But these old folks keep cruisin’ on through

Their big old boats, they got lots of power

And they coming for you, upwards of 5 miles per hour!

Supersize This!

(Supersize That!

Supersize This!

Now whatchu think ‘bout ‘at?)

(Would you like to supersize that? Alright, next window!)

Twinkle

Schwig: Drums

Chris: Bass, Piano, Accordion

Dave: Vocals, Acoustic guitar

Lyrics:

The road is a short one, but its so hard to follow

But you know it’s the right one, even with all that sorrow

The sugar’s not sweet, until you’ve tasted the sour

And the day isn’t sunny, until after the showers

And in the end you know, you’ve found the one

She’s the girl that always makes you come undone

It’s the twinkle in her eye

That lets me forget about the starry skies

It’s the love that’s in her voice

That lets me forget about all the noise

It’s the twinkle in her eye

That lets me forget about the starry skies

It’s the love that’s in her voice

That lets me forget about all the noise

We don’t need all that money

All those ugly fancy clothes

All you need are the right ones

So you don’t get cold

And the things come first

Are what you really need

Everything that comes extra

Only produces greed

And in the end you know, you’ve found the one

She’s the girl that always makes you come undone

It’s the twinkle in her eye

That lets me forget about the starry skies

It’s the love that’s in her voice

That lets me forget about all the noise

It’s the twinkle in her eye

That lets me forget about the starry skies

It’s the love that’s in her voice

That lets me forget about all the noise

Carwash Drunks

Schwig: Vocals

Chris: Electric guitar, bass, banjo

Additional Instrumentalists:

Tim Peacock: Trumpet

Matt Hunold: Trombone

Lyrics:

Ok, we’re recording

Oh yes, oh yeah

Turn the music up a little more please, ok?

Ha ha, yeah

Why do you look so sad?

Have you nobody?

You’re lying around in this ghetto Jersey town

Washing cars just for some money

When you gonna live your life

The way that you wanted to do?

Or have you sunk so low,

You just don’t see the light no more?

Gwan!

At a carwash up in Irvington

Lived a man by the name of George

As a poor black man he lived his life

Stealing things he couldn’t afford

He kept his crates of booze

In a stolen shopping cart

What he had he held so dear

Cause all he had was his heart

My grandpa owned that carwash

And I was only nine

George was drunk as hell

I didn’t know it at the time

He told a far fetched tale

And I believed every word

My grandpa closed my ears

And then he called the man absurd

George Hammy, don’t drink your life away

There will be, there will be, a brighter day

Why do you live your life through a haze?

George all you got to know is, there’s a better way

Now it was getting late

The streets were growing cold

George, he took his shopping cart

And down the streets he strolled

My grandfather, has said to me

Do not become that man

Because Andrew when you’re older, then you will understand

My Grandfather once said

George made a call one night

In a drunken stupor

Threatened his life with a knife

George said watch your back

And then he hung up the phone

It’s hard to keep on living

When you’re living all alone

George Hammy, don’t drink your life away

There will be, there will be, a brighter day

Why you gotta live your life living through a haze?

Oh, George, there will be a brighter day

This I know

Lord, I know, I, I know there will

Just believe now, George

You gotta pick yourself up from off the ground

Dust yourself off, and realize, man, that this ain’t how you should be living your life

Brush your shoulders off

And so the carwash drunks

Just drank their lives away

It’s hard to keep on living

When you’re living in a haze

I Try

Schwig: Guitar, vocals

Chris: Bass, guitar, doumbek, djembe, bongos, sleigh bells

Try, try, try, and you will see

It’s really not hard when you believe

You gotta try try try try and you will se

It’s really not hard when you believe

I fell asleep last night with my TV on

Woke up the next morning at the crack of dawn

And I don’t know why you do this to me

Falling in love ain’t no cup of tea

But I tried tried tried tried and what did I see

I saw a group of friends who all brought out the best in me

We’re missing one, but she’s still in our hearts

Until the day from this earth we depart

I got a couple of good friends

We love to drink, laugh, and play

College is coming soon, so we’ll all be on our way

But then when the summer comes

We’ll all be as one

Living, loving, screaming, cussing, dancing in the sun

And I tried tried tried tried

I saw a group of friends who all brought out the best in me

We’re missing one, but she’s still in our hearts

Until the day from this earth we depart

Until the day from this earth we depart

Until the day from this earth we depart

Chris: Electric guitars, synthesizers, bass, piano, dulcimer, drums, synth beat, classical guitar, BGV’s

Dave: Vocals, acoustic guitar

Additional instrumentalists:

Peter Griese: Trumpet

Lyrics:

I should’ve become a watchmaker

That is what he said

In the times that we are living

It’s what we’ve all come to dread

In the modern art of war

He loses who backs out first

But in my mind, he’s the winner

He saved human lives from human thirsts

End your troubles in peace, before it hits the ground

Try to save our world from

From the Mushroom Cloud

Don’t believe those lies like war is peace

Only death is who you’ll please

And the conflict that we’re all in now

Bring them home from overseas

He tried to let us know

Not to follow down that road

He knew he’d created the devil

It’s a burden he couldn’t hold

End your troubles in peace, before it hits the ground

Try to save our world from

From the Mushroom Cloud

Its not you you’ll be affecting

Only generations to come

Mushroom clouds encasing our cities

It’s a war that won’t be won
